A torоspherical head is an indispensable element of production of tanks storing goods under pressure. Products of this type are manufactured by cold forming. Depending on the material, dimensions, and curvature degree, a torоspherical head can withstand high loads without deformation, with integrity preserved.
Features of torоspherical head forming
Products are manufactured in accordance with GOST 34347-2017 and GOST 34233.2-2017. Project design takes into account the tank’s operating volume, content type, operating conditions, and other features.
Cold forming allows manufacturing durable torоspherical heads for tanks used in the oil-and-gas and chemical industries; head tanks, fire tanks, etc. Workpieces are formed for a wide range of standard sizes, with the minimum and maximum diameters of 0.8 m and 4.2, respectively. Products are formed with mandatory thermal hardening and radiographic or visual quality assurance of welding. Torоspherical heads are manufactured with the use of state-of-the-art equipment.
Types
Torоspherical products are manufactured in one of the following formats:
- Type A. Spherical part radius is similar to the inner diameter, the straight section height exceeds the metal thickness by 3.5 or more times. In production, steel 4 to 26 mm thick is used.
- Type B. The straight section’s height is the same to that of Type A products; a spherical part’s radius equals 0.9 inner part’s diameters (the latter varies from 1 to 3.6 meters)
- Type C. Most rounded parts, with the ratio of the spherical part radius to the inner part’s diameter of 0.8.
