Подземные газгольдеры

An underground gas holder is a sealed container designed for storing a propane-butane mixture and supplying it to end users all year round. Such reservoirs are usually made as horizontal tanks with a high neck for convenient LPG filling.

The all-metal-housing equipment is deployed below the soil freeze level, placing it on an at least 16 cm thick concrete slab. According to the applicable standards and requirements, the distance between the housing and the ground surface must be at least 0.6 m.

Scope of application

Underground LPG tanks are used for gasification of small cottage settlements, private houses, and enterprises.

These tanks are designed for feeding gas to stoves, hot water boilers, heating units, and other consuming devices. Since the gas holder is deployed below the soil freeze level, it is reasonable to install this equipment in cold climate zones (e.g., Central Russia).

Benefits

Among the key reasons to buy underground LPG tanks are the following:

  • better conditions for the evaporation of the propane-butane mixture Positive temperatures under the ground level ensure optimal conditions for gas transition from the liquefied to the gaseous state; with that, no forced evaporation devices are required.
  • higher LPG storage capacity Underground gas holders may have volumes of 5 to 60 cubic meters allowing filling, several times a year, the equipment designed for autonomous gas supply of country houses, cottage and construction settlements.
  • landscape preservation Since the tank is installed into the pit and covered with a mixture of sand, gravel, and soil, the equipment will not disrupt the surrounding appearance. The only thing that will be visible above the ground level is a neck with hatch for filling and pumping out gas.
  • durability Firm steel, stiffness ribs, anti-corrosion housing coating, and ease of maintenance together secure at least 20 years of service life.
